LINTEL is a UK journal which combines the work of contemporary artists with selections from old texts, printed in A4 format on heavyweight, uncoated papers. The journal is published in two editions, a 'Standard Edition', which comprises the journal itself, and an artist-directed 'Special Edition', which includes additional material in a special presentation portfolio.
VOL 1 NO 2 features drawings by Hannah Devereux and text selections adapted from 'An Introduction to the Study of Rocks' by Lazarus Fletcher, published in 1909.
Hannah Devereux was born in England in 1988. She studied at University College Falmouth and Byam Shaw School of Art,
Central St. Martins. She currently lives and works in London.
Her drawings explore mark-making at its most fundamental, allowing the form and proximity of each line to establish infinitely subtle variations. The process of their making - each image evolving incrementally - conveys a quiet affinity for natural phenomena, and yet the works themselves do not seek to represent, but rather create something new and autonomous.
For this issue, Hannah has made six new A4 drawings to accompany the series displayed in the journal. She has also generously
allowed Corbel Stone Press to publish a selection from her 'Mıvatn' series of photographs of the Icelandic landscape.
A special edition of six will therefore be available, comprising:
A portfolio with paste-on cover plate
An original signed A4 artwork by Hannah Devereux
Six limited edition A5 'Mıvatn' photographs
Four drawings from Lintel presented as a folded card
Lintel Vol 1 No 2, A4, 32pp journal
A limited edition A6 postcard
A colophon card
